Coffee, Tea, By ME! Pocket Workshop

The THIRD installment of the highly-successful COFFEE, TEA BY ME! WORKSHOP of Studio SnR can't seem to push thru... We're definitely NOT lacking in participants, those interested simply can't find a common time of convenience for it to take flight.

True to Studio SnR's ode to Total Learning Satisfaction, we decided to facilitate several "Pocket Workshops" in order to satisfy our participants' varying time of convenience. Expect the same fun, creative and best of all educational way of seeking knowledge in preparing popular Caffeinated and Creamy beverages (and more), yet in a toned-down and more private setting. A maximum of 6 participants per session will be accommodated, making it easier for crafty home entertainers, enthusiasts and start-up (even existing) cafe's/tea salons to actively participate.

BIG" Thank You!!!" no less to the Pocket Workshops' set of Brand Partners, for their unconditional support, generosity, and full belief in Studio SnR's aims. Cheers to learning!

Sea Salt Caramel Latte ☕

"Salted Caramel" has been gaining rapid populartity in the java maket and beyond... from espresso based drinks it has transcended into the milk tea, confectionary, and ice cream market among many others...

There's no better way to excite one's taste buds than with a little sprinkle of premium sea salt just before sipping something buttery-sweet; where one feels a tingling sensation quite similar to Tinker Bell's magic pixie dust.  The leading coffee shops have launched their respective versions yet they are all sugar and calorie laden, ranging from 60-80 grams of sugar, and 400-700 calories per drink.

Here's a "healthier" version versus the coffee shop standard, not to mention a more cost effective one which could be enjoyed in the comforts of one's humble abode...

To make an 8-ounce drink: Ingredients...

1 tablespoon Far Skyes Vanilla Frappe Powder
2-shots Espresso
15ml Stasero Caramel Syrup
2-ounces (60ml) low fat or skimmed milk (steamed); milk froth set aside
Stasero Caramel Sauce for garnish
Premium Sea Salt

Procedure:

1) Dissolve 1-tablespoon Stasero Vanilla Frappe Powder over 2-shots Espresso

2) Add 15ml Stasero Caramel Syrup

3) Fill mug/cup with 2-ounces steamed milk

4) Cover the top of the mug/cup with milk froth (instead of whipped cream); drizzle Stasero Caramel Sauce; sprinkle a pinch of Premium Sea Salt

Serve and enjoy! Happy holidays!!!! ♥

* as a healthier alternative, whipped cream was omitted, and replaced with milk froth to top the mug/cup
* skim/low-fat milk was used in place of whole milk

Caramel-Mocha Frappe

As requested by one of our loyal blog follower, we are preparing an easy-to-makeCaramel-Mocha Frappe recipe which could be done in the comforts of one's home. This is a follow-up recipe to the "Raspberry-Mocha Frappe" article we did last December 2010, which ranks among the top viewed post of this young blog.

Caramel-Mocha Frappe is one of the all-time most ordered drink for both international and local coffee chains. CARAMEL in simple definition is "burnt sugar" or sugar heated with a little water until golden brown. The darker the color, the bolder and less sweet it becomes (milk, cream, or butter is added to enhance the viscosity and richness of the caramel). "FRAPPE" could be interchanged with Macchiato, Latte or Frappucino, depending on the dairy dose and equipment used in preparing the drink.

The ingredients are as follows (to make a 16-oz finished drink):

3 tablespoons Stasero Frappe Base (this premix contains sweetener and creamer/"dairy" part already)*
2-shots Far Skyes Premium Roast Arabica espresso (roughly 30ml per shot x 2 = 60ml)**
15ml Stasero Caramel Syrup
15ml Stasero Caramel Sauce (for garnish)
Ice

     * should you opt to use fresh milk, substitute 3 tablespoons Stasero Frappe base with 60ml fresh milk
** other espresso blends could be used, I just happen to have that ready in my espresso machine

Procedure:

Step 1: in a blender, combine the Frappe Base, Espresso and Caramel Syrup - blend for 10 seconds.

Step 2: using a 16-ounce cup, fill it with crushed, cube or tube ice. Pour into the blender with the mix and blend again for 15 seconds.

Step 3: Pour into 16-ounce cup and garnish with whipped cream (optional) and top with Caramel Sauce!

Sipping this drink in the comforts of one's home is a fine  luxury, considering the amount of time, gas and money saved than leaving the house just to get your caffeine fix. A real Home Run!!! Enjoy!!!
